You were just sitting at home alone. Sure, it was your birthday, but that didn’t mean that you had to do anything about it. You were just going to sit around all day, watch some tv, maybe listen to loud music with a new speaker you had gotten, and maybe even derp around deviantART.
Of course you had to keep your friends at bay, they had all wanted to throw you a party. But you weren’t really feeling it. Birthday parties were for little kids, or rich kids with shit loads of money (which, granted, Alfred was, but you still didn’t want a wild party).
You flopped back onto the couch and started to flip aimlessly through the channels. Snacking on some bag of chips you just sat there for a bit, not really paying attention to the crappy shows. Boredom started to creep up on you, and you groaned, turning off the tv.
Just as you were thinking to yourself that you should have let your friends throw you a party to escape boredom, you heard a knock on the door. You jumped up and raced to the door, hoping for something interesting to happen. Swinging open your front door, you came face to face with Ivan. “Happy birthday, da?” he said to you with a smile on his face, extending a beautiful sunflower.
Your (e/c) eyes widened. “Ivan!” you exclaimed, tackling him for a big hug. “Thank you so much!”
“It’s no problem, little one.” He smiled down as you buried your face in his coat.
“Hey!” you said, jokingly harsh, “At least I’m not freakishly tall!” You broke the hug and poked his side. For a moment he looked hurt, but then realized you were joking. A smile graced his features again, and he held out the sunflower once more. You took it, and brushed a lock of your slightly messy (h/c) behind your ear. “It’s beautiful,” you beamed, “Ivan, I love it.” He smiled, a light blush on his face you mistook as being from the cold. “Come on in.” you said with a smile. “I’ll go put this in some water.”
He followed you in, wondering how to tell you.
You attempted to grab a vase from the top shelf, jumping up repeatedly, forgetting you had company, and determined to get that particular vase. A pair of hesitant hands wrapped around your waist and lifted you up about two feet to get the vase.
You were stunned. Ivan was holding you. Your crush was holding you. And he was strong! Quickly you grabbed the vase, and tried to bring down the blush on your cheeks. “Thank you.” you said quietly. You stayed turned away from him and leaned over slightly to fill the container with water. Moving back you put the flower in, and admired how perfect it was. “I love sunflowers.” you said, turning.
But you realized, wide eyed, that Ivan hadn’t moved from behind you. He still stood there, and now you were barely inches apart. And he was smiling at you slightly, with a blush dusted over his cheeks. “Sunflowers remind me of you. Bright and beautiful, da?” he said, moving a lock of (h/c) out from in front of your eyes, but leaving his hand caressing your cheek. Your mind was both at a blank, and racing. Ivan said you were beautiful. And bright. He outright complimented you, and now he was holding your cheek, and leaning in. And as he kissed you lightly, you thought your brain outright exploded. BOOM. The kiss was sweet, yet demanding, everything you would expect from Ivan, and everything you could have ever wanted.
He broke the kiss, and brought you into a little hug. “Ya lyublyu tebya.” he said huskily, right near your ear.
But, of course, you were in no frame of mind to call on a second language, so you let out a strangled, “Huh?”
“I-I love you, _____. I have for a while.” he said, looking into your (e/c) eyes with those penetrating violet ones.
A slow grin spread across your face, one to put the Cheshire cat to shame. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling yourself up towards him. “I love you too, Ivan.” you said, smashing your lips into his. A moment of shock passed, then he hugged you tighter to him, and reciprocated with force. After a bit, the need for air became too much. Still fuzzy you broke apart, and you nuzzled your head into the warm fabric of his jacket.
Whispering you said to yourself, “Best birthday ever.”

Da, Sunflower. (RussiaxReader)
It was an average day in the Braginsky household. You and your long-time boyfriend Ivan Braginsky, who happened to be the human personification of Russia, were sitting on the couch watching one of his favorite shows, which happened to be the Russian version of Sherlock. You enjoyed watching it with Ivan, despite not knowing the language except for a few words, but today, you were slightly losing interest.
Snuggled up in his large arms, you remembered fondly that Ivan's term of endearment for you was "Sunflower". Then you alarmingly realized that you have never seen one in person, even though it was Ivan's favorite flower. You shot

Hetalia Russia x reader ~This is how we met, da?~
A/N: [IF it's your first time reading a character x reader story, then:
y/n means your name; h/c means hair color and so on.]
Also, in this story it's in your point of view, and I wrote it so that “I” is how the reader thinks... if that makes sense. Because we think in the first person, am I right? Ahem...
On with the show!

I was walking through the beautiful city of Moscow, watching as it snowed gently. The streets were already teeming with people who were getting off work and heading home. Me being one of them. I've only been in Moscow for a month, but I already felt connected to the place. The whole country even!

Happy Birthday Russia (Russia X Reader)
(Name) came home from the store after about an hour and a half of shopping. She wanted to surprise her boyfriend, Ivan, with a few of his favorite things for his birthday when he came home from work. She still had a little bit of vodka left over from celebrating Christmas with all of their friends but she got another bottle just to be safe. She wanted everything to be perfect for him when he got home.
She reached into one of the grocery bags and took out a few pots with sunflowers planted inside of them that she got from the florist and set one of them in the middle of the kitchen table and two more on both sides of the living room table. Se

And another little thing for Merh, . Happy Birthday, man. The rest of your stuff are physical objects I must hand to you on Monday. So be in the caf, okay? (Can you tell I wanted to throw her a party, and she refused?) Russia... dude's so socially awkward, it's fucking adorable.

My birthday was a few days ago and this is pretty much what I did. (No boys or Russia came to my house but my aunt brought me sunflowers because those are my favorites!)
