This won't do. You approach him, "Alright. It's a start. First off, you can't wear this watch."
"Vhy?" he looked a little startled.
You dangle it in front of him, "Because I just swiped it off you, and you didn't notice." You look at the thing, God, is this a Rolex? Setting it down on his dresser you look at his attire. "Pretty good, but your hair's all... perfect." You reach up your tippy toes, thankful for the excuse to touch his hair. Once it was messed up in satisfactory way you retreated. "Cute."
Putting your hair tucked up into your hat, "Should we go?"
"Vhat about breakfast?" he asked.
You looked up at him, "Oh, right. Regular meals... I'll never get used to that." Usually, when over at places like Russia's and Italy's, they didn't keep tabs on you and you could slip out quietly after you had slept.
He took your hand and led you downstairs. Did he hear? Did he guess? I wish he'd speak his mind.
After sitting you down he made scrambled eggs. Prussia came out, to your relief, "Hey, Prussia."
"Hey." he said, taking the clue and sitting at the table. Nodding at Ludwig he mouthed, Any luck? You bit your lip, and he patted your hand. Prussia looked at his brother's back, "Sleep well, West?"
"Ja." he said dismissively.
Dejected you looked down. You hoped he would have fun today. It was always fun for you, but he was different to say the least. Prussia prattled on about little things, allowing you both to sit in relative silence and eat some scrambled eggs.
"Where are you taking him?" he eventually got tired of his own voice (probably not...) and asked you a question.
You smiled, "It's a secret. You wouldn't be able to get in anyway."
While Prussia looked at you in shock, Germany looked into his eggs with a little smirk. As you argued with Prussia about his "awesome" appearance Germany cleared the table and washed up. You stared at him slightly, thinking, He's such a cute little neat freak...
"_____? Are you even listening to me?"
You looked up, "Hmm?"
"Get enough sleep there, liebling?" he asked.
Thinking back, you smiled, "Yeah, I'm just not used to beds." Or being snuggled by sexy Germans.
Lovesick much? he mouths to you.
You wanted to hit him again, but your hand still hurt from earlier, so you just stared daggers. "If it was anyone else, I'm sure that look would be terrifying, but you're too cute."
Your secret weapon, "Hey, Prussia, how's Hungary?"
He looked at you wide eyed. "Sorry."
I thought so.
"Alright, _____. I'm ready." Ludwig told you, holding three of the duffel bags.
You popped up, "See ya, Prussia."
"Bye." he said quietly.
Ludwig looked to you, "Vhat did you do to him?"
"He mocked my love life, I mocked his." you said calmly.

Love life? Does that mean me? She grabbed the other two bags, just as he had hoped, leaving hers upstairs.
"Let's go." she said, leading the way.
Ludwig followed her as she wound through many streets and passageways. "Just tell me if I'm going too fast." she said to him jokingly.
"Ja, right."
Germany had no idea where they were anymore, and they came to a old wooden fence. _____ walked up to a beggar slumped down against the wall. A dog barked, running up to them. "Look alive, Hayden." she said. Ludwig knelt down to pet the little terrier.
"Spare change, ma'am?" he asked faintly.
She smiled at the seemingly intoxicated man, "Do we really have to do this?"
"Rules are rules, even for you." he said, a smile showing under his hat.
Still grinning she spoke suddenly, "Attention."
The man stood quickly and saluted, "Yes!"
She leaned in and hugged him, "We're here to help."
"Well then," he said enthusiastically, pulling back, "password accepted. Um, who's we, though?" Hayden looked at Germany.
_____ turned back to Ludwig, "He's the reason I'm late."
"He giving you trouble?" Hayden said, looking at Germany menacingly.
She laughed, though, "No, he's an old friend. He let me crash at his place."
"Oh!" Hayden looked happier, taking off his hat to reveal mussy brown hair and a kind smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." Green eyes met icy blue.
Germany said, "You too. Just call me Ludwig."
"Alright, you ready to see the gutter?" he asked.
Ludwig looked a little concerned at that reference, "Ja, why not?"
Hayden pushed the tall wooden gate with his old knitted mittens, revealing a hidden town. Small shacks and people all bustling around with an admittedly dull atmosphere. It was very... Brown.
"I'll need some muscle to set up the bonfire, you willing to work?" _____ asked him politely.
Hayden smiled, "Name the price."
"What do you need?"
He shivered, "How 'bout a new coat?"
"Let's see..." She dug around in her bag, "Here we are!" Wide eyed he accepted one of Germany's old things he had once worn fighting Russia.
Eagerly he put it on, "God, thank you. Now," he opened his arms, "work me to the bone." He grinned at them, looking instantly happier.
"Come on." She led them to the first house they could see. "Hey, Karla, you home?"
There was a gasp, barking, and the laughter of children from inside the house. The door was flung open and she was tackled by three kids "_____!" they chorused. Dogs barked around her feet as well
"Hey, _____," a woman said, "it's great to see you."
_____ smiled warmly, "It's been too long." She leaned in to give Karla a hug, while somehow managing to keep all the children clinging to her happy and not stepping on any dogs. "I need a log of firewood for a bonfire, what do you need?"
Smiling Karla gestured to the kids, "Something to feed them."
"Of course." _____ asked him, "Which one has food, Ludwig?" Passing it to her, still stunned by it all, Germany could only stare. While Karla let Hayden into her home _____ fished around her pockets and gave the dogs a few treats. They came back, Hayden with a log under his arm. "Here." She handed Karla two cans of soup.
Looking like _____ had just given her an entire buffet she said, "I can't take all this-"
"You need it. And I need the firewood. It's fair." _____ smiled at her. "I'll see you at the potluck tonight, alright?"
Karla looked grateful, going back inside. "Thank you."
"Now kids, you'll never guess what I got my hands on in Switzerland." She bent down, swinging one of the kids around like a rag doll. They all screeched in delight, and treated her like a beloved cousin.
They looked at her with eager faces, after calming down, "What is it?"
"I'll only tell you if you gather all the kids in the square, alright?" they all ran off leading the dogs with them. _____, Ludwig, and Hayden continued on their journey for firewood.
Hayden suddenly grabbed Germany's shoulder tightly as they walked, "Hören Sie, Sie sprechen Deutsch, nicht wahr?" (Listen, you speak German, right?)
"Ja." Ludwig said, startled.
Staring at him, Hayden said, "Wenn Sie ihr weh, ich werde nicht zu schlachten Sie zögern." (If you hurt her, I will not hesitate to slaughter you.)
"Wäre es nicht im Traum daran." (Wouldn't dream of it.)
Hayden said, "Good." ending their conversation, and releasing Germany's shoulder. "Sorry. I guess you're alright." His face melted back to a laid back man, genuinely happy and apologetic for threatening him. Ludwig didn't blame him. If anyone hurt _____, he would probably slaughter them too.
"Ludwig, are there any shoes?" _____ called out to them.
Catching up to her he said, "Ja."
